Maeklong is famous for its unusual setting, but the market is more than a photo opportunity.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand’s published timetable lists eight train movements through the market each day, at approximately 6:20, 8:30, 9:00, 11:10, 11:30, 14:30, 15:30 and 17:40, with trains travelling in and out of Mae Klong. Timings can change, so check the current railway schedule before planning your visit.

At the end of the market is Mae Klong railway station.
The line connects Mae Klong with Ban Laem, across the Tha Chin River from the Wongwian Yai–Mahachai railway line. The railway journey itself is part of the experience, taking you through a quieter side of central Thailand.
