I am a self confessed geek and love gadgets, toys or whatever you want to call them. I think I must have purchased a pre-release of nearly every gadget available and my only regret is not keeping them all including boxes – I could have started a museum and made some money 😜

I have been an avid photographer for a long time and gone through various phases or different disciplines. I started with motorsport and dirt track speedway way back in the 80’s and soon realised there was no money to be made. I spent some time with wildlife and then realised that was too limiting. Over time I’ve enjoyed capturing mostly people doing what people do in their everyday lives. Trying to capture the candid, the real and the raw side of people in places I travel.

Dont get me wrong i still find passion in architecture , places , sunrises and variations using HDR, Timelapse etc. If i had to choose it would be wondering through very local places finding that one unique shot.

My Photography Technology Setup

Photography for me is about merging craft with technology. Over time, I’ve refined a setup that lets me shoot, edit, and publish wherever I am — from the streets of Bangkok to the tea fields of Sri Lanka. Below is an overview of the gear and workflow that make up my creative ecosystem.

Leica Cameras — Craft and Precision

At the core of my setup are **Leica cameras**, known for their build quality and timeless design. My **Leica SL3** is the main workhorse — a full-frame powerhouse with exceptional dynamic range and color science. It’s perfect for portraits, landscapes, and fine-art photography where detail and tonal depth matter.

The **Leica M11** adds a slower, more deliberate rhythm to my work. Shooting with a rangefinder keeps me engaged and thoughtful with composition. It’s my go-to for street photography and travel storytelling.

The **Leica Q3** and **Q3-43** are my compact travel companions. The built-in 28 mm Summilux captures broad city scenes and interiors, while the 43 mm crop gives a more natural perspective for portraits and tighter shots.

Lenses — Tools for Every Vision

[IMAGE BLOCK: Lens lineup on desk]

Each lens shapes how I see the world. My **M-mount collection** gives me a creative toolkit that covers almost any subject or mood:

**21 mm** – For wide architecture, interiors, and dramatic landscapes.

**35 mm** – The all-rounder and classic street lens.

– **50 mm f/1.0 Voigtländer Nokton** – Dreamy, shallow depth-of-field; perfect for night portraits and atmospheric street scenes.

– **70 mm Voigtländer** – Great for tight framing or mid-distance portraits.

– **90 mm Voigtländer** – Adds natural compression and depth for landscapes or candid captures.

These lenses encourage me to move, observe, and compose — rather than rely on zoom. It keeps the process creative and intentional.

## ???? Editing Workflow — iPad Pro M5 + Lightroom

[IMAGE BLOCK: Editing on iPad with Apple Pencil]

Editing is where everything comes together. I use **Adobe Lightroom**, mainly for its **cloud sync and mobile flexibility**. My workflow revolves around the **iPad Pro M5**, which handles large SL3 RAW files effortlessly.

The color-accurate display and **Apple Pencil** make local edits like masking, dodging, and burning a joy. Lightroom’s **AI-based tools** speed up my workflow, while cloud sync ensures I can edit anywhere — whether I’m in a hotel lobby or airport lounge.

Final edits are stored in **iCloud**, keeping my entire library unified and accessible across all devices.

## ???? Drones — Capturing the World from Above

[IMAGE BLOCK: Drone launch or aerial view]

Aerial imagery adds a cinematic layer to my storytelling. I use three drones for different needs:

– **DJI Mavic 4 Pro** – My main aerial workhorse. Its large-sensor camera delivers 10-bit color and sharp, stable footage, ideal for cinematic landscapes.

– **DJI Mini 5 Pro** – Light, portable, and perfect for travel. It can fly almost anywhere yet produces pro-level photos and video.

– **Hover X1 Pro** – My pocket drone for autonomous and selfie-tracking shots — great for solo travel and behind-the-scenes clips.

## ⚙️ A Balanced Ecosystem

[IMAGE BLOCK: Flat lay of all gear]

Every device — from **Leica’s precision optics** to **DJI’s flight intelligence** — plays a role in a seamless ecosystem. I can shoot, edit, and publish within minutes, all while traveling light.

This balance between performance and portability keeps creativity flowing. It’s not about chasing specs — it’s about building a workflow that feels invisible, where technology empowers the story rather than distracts from it.
