What is a One Hour Tourist?
I’ve never liked the idea of “killing time” when travelling.
Most trips — especially for work — are made up of small windows. An hour before a meeting. A free evening. A long layover.
That’s usually when I head out.
This site is built around those moments — the places I’ve found that are actually worth it when you’ve only got an hour or two.
Early mornings, quick walks, food stops, and catching a city at the right time of day.
Everything here is somewhere I’ve actually been. The photos are mine — sometimes with a camera, sometimes just an iPhone — and part of the experience of being there.
If you’ve got a spare hour, don’t waste it. Go find something interesting.
The One Hour Tourist: I’m Bjorn!
Travel doesn’t need a full day or a week to be worth it.
Some of the best experiences happen in the gaps — an early morning walk, a quick food stop, an hour before your next meeting. I built this to show what’s actually worth doing in those moments.
No long plans, no fluff — just real places you can experience in an hour or two.
If you’ve got the time, use it..
Over thirty countries and hundreds of cities has taught me two things:
I firmly believe that every moment in a new city is an opportunity to explore and create memories.
Meet people, have a coffee, take a silly selfie, watch the world at work!
Early morning is my absolute favorite time. There’s nothing better than watching a city wake up, learning about its rhythms and routines.
There’s so much focus on big & long itineraries not enough about things to do when limited on time.
There so much about how to spend a day , a week or even longer but for many they don’t have that time.
I know many people who only have a few hours or want to break the day up into smaller bite size activities.
Travel isn’t just about big trips.
It’s the small windows — the hour before a meeting, the early morning, the gap in your day — that often end up being the most memorable.
When places are quieter, the light is better, and you’re not rushing between plans, you notice more.
That’s where these ideas come from — real moments that fit into real schedules.
This is about making those small pockets of time count.
